Nigel Deane
Nigel Deane (they/them) is a Los Angeles-based multi-disciplinary artist and educator who mostly works with music and sound. They have an extensive background as an orchestral, ensemble/band, and solo violinist, composer, producer, and electronic musician, for organizations including wild Up, Monday Evening Concerts, Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara, and Opera Povera. They recently produced and toured their original experimental religious ceremony, MASS, in Los Angeles, and they are currently working with their band Fig and the Wasp to play with combining electronics, improvisation, experimentalism, orchestral composition, and songwriting. Nigel is also working to develop new methods of music pedagogy to integrate their research of methods that bring joy and anti-racist sentiment into music education.
