Partnership Programs

YMF has developed specialized programs in partnership with values-aligned school-based, and community service organizations and offices. These programs address specific needs such addressing dearth of of representation in the workplace for women, especially women of color, and strengthened sense of identity and the ability to transform challenging experiences into social capital for students who have recently emigrated. 

Mike Stoller Music Heals

for Homeboy Industries

Made possible through the vision of legendary songwriter Mike Stoller, Music Heals is a trauma-informed, therapeutically-based music immersion experience designed the formerly gang-involved, recently incarcerated men and women from Homeboy Industries.

AMPLIFY:WiSE Women in Sound Engineering

9th-12th Grade

A program for high school in partnership with LA Mayor Eric Garcetti’s office. Students learn the technology and science of producing and recording music, and real-world skills such as proper use of workstations, microphones, audio interfaces.

Newcomers English Language Enrichment

6th-12th Grade

Developed in partnership the Compton Unified School District’s English Language Services department, the Newcomer’s Program English Language Acquisition and Immersion program provides robust language development through engaging, structured music instruction that embodies the cultural and linguistic diversity of Newcomer students.
