Cathie Arteaga

Youth Arts Ambassador

Cathie Arteaga is a visual artist, filmmaker, and community advocate dedicated to using storytelling and digital media to uplift and empower others. With a deep passion for the arts and a commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices, she merges film, photography, and digital storytelling to create impactful narratives that resonate with all audiences.

Born in Los Angeles and raised across California, Cathie’s experiences in the foster care system shaped her resilience and drive. She discovered her passion for content creation through upcycling fashion on TikTok, which led to an interest in filmmaking and digital storytelling. Now majoring in Digital Media at Los Angeles Trade Technical College, she has worked on multiple film projects, collaborated with arts organizations, and led creative initiatives for nonprofits serving underrepresented youth.

Cathie thrives in collaborative, high-energy environments and has taken on roles in photography, videography, content creation, and arts education. She has facilitated youth development programs with Peace4Kids, taught social-emotional learning through the arts, and worked for community-based art programs. Her work is deeply rooted in the belief that creativity has the power to heal, connect, and drive meaningful change. From documenting community events to crafting compelling visual stories, Cathie is committed to bridging the gap between art and advocacy.

With aspirations to transfer into USC’s Film & TV Production program, Cathie aims to expand her skills and continue creating meaningful work that amplifies underrepresented voices. Whether through film, digital art, or community engagement, she is committed to making a lasting impact in the world of cinema, arts advocacy, and youth empowerment.
