Breanna Flores
Program Associate
she/her/hers
Breanna Flores joins us as our newest Program Associate. She graduated from the University of California, San Diego where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a minor in Music.
Breanna dedicated her undergraduate career to exploring the topics that sparked her interest the most, building technical skills in video editing, social media curation, and digital design. She was involved in spearheading a quarter-long project in which she designed a music website, wrote blog posts, and shared her love for live music. She also has some educational experience in childhood development, specifically examining how political, economic, and social policies inform the lives of underprivileged children and their families.
Breanna has spent time volunteering with schools in Compton Unified School District and Los Angeles Unified School District. She worked with fourth graders where she tutored students with math, reading, and social studies. Breanna also spent time with third graders, aiding teachers and partaking in school events.
Breanna has grown up in South L.A. and as such, feels deeply connected to YMF’s core mission and values. She has witnessed firsthand the inequities experienced by these neighborhoods and is looking forward to helping build better accessibility to the arts. She hopes to come out of her internship with a better understanding of what it takes to run a music non-profit, as well as take advantage of the experience to find her own niche within the arts and music industry.
