Development & Communications Associate
Jessica Coreas is a musician, writer, and community activist, and currently serves as YMF’s Development and Communications Associate.
Jessica’s professional interests lie at the intersection of the arts and community activism, and has spent the last decade curating community events, artwalks, and local music concerts within the San Gabriel Valley (SGV). She is a proud member of Emerging Arts Leaders, Los Angeles (EALLA), and was accepted into their Protegé Mentorship Program in 2019-2020, alongside a cohort of art leaders around Los Angeles County that aimed to foster sustainable leadership practices in arts and culture organizations. Jessica is also a member of Juntos Podemos / Together We Can , a collective of multi-generational educators, community organizers and activists based in the SGV. In 2020, she became a published author in the Journal of Latinos and Education, for her piece on the California Voters Right’s Act (CVRA) and the struggle for school transformation within a Southern California school district.
Jessica holds a B.A. in English with a minor in film and media studies from UC Irvine, and is excited to share YMF’s mission in providing music education to underserved communities within Los Angeles.
