Kindergarten-12th grade
The Community Music Academy is a tuition-free music instruction and performance program open to students in K-12. Students at any level of experience or skill can receive responsive small group instruction in the instrument of their choosing, including violin, harp, guitar, flute, clarinet, recorder and trumpet. Participants also have the opportunity to perform at various community events.One of our latest class offerings open to the community is music technology with an emphasis on production and engineering. Students will have the opportunity to explore working with Digital Audio Workstations, learn how to make beats, record vocals, edit and manipulate sounds, and combine these skills to express their creativity.
Sankey Scholars Program
All CMA students may apply for the 2021 Sankey Scholars Program. Students chosen will receive cost-free, private instruction as well as an instrument. This opportunity is named in honor of Edwing Sankey, a groundbreaking multi-instrumentalist and composer who devoted his life to creating, playing, and teaching music that was both innovative and healing.
