Jocelyne Martinez
Program and Administrative Intern
They/She
Jocelyne Martinez is currently a full-time student at California State University, Dominguez Hills, majoring in Audio Engineering. As an aspiring musician, they have an extensive knowledge of the music industry and its current trends, as well as a strong sense of entrepreneurship with experience running an independently owned business.
Jocelyne’s enthusiasm to join the Young Musicians Foundation as a Program and Administrative intern stems from her own belief that music education should be made accessible to anyone, no matter their age, gender, ethnic background, or financial standing. Having grown up in a lower-middle class Latino Household, she recognizes that music and other forms of creative expression are commonly seen as a luxury and are not often prioritized in minority communities. Jocelyne is incredibly grateful to be given the opportunity to work towards creating an environment free of bias and Eurocentric ideologies where music is considered a human right for everyone.
Using their past experience organizing community-based events and working with various culture clubs, Jocelyne is excited to finally begin her journey as an active community advocate that empowers music lovers everywhere.
