Programs >> Debut Orchestra >> Auditions

The Debut Orchestra is one of the oldest pre-professional training orchestras in the country.  Alumni of the orchestra currently fill top positions in orchestras across the county, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony, the Chicago Symphony, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.  The orchestra will perform at least eight full concerts during this concert season.

Base pay has now been raised to $40/rehearsal and $60/performance.  All musicians being offered full-time positions within the orchestra will be offered multi-year contracts with the ensemble, pending yearly review by the Music Director and YMF administration.

YMF seeks not only to reach a diverse audience, but also present an orchestra that is diverse in roster. We enthusiastically encourage application from musicians of all ethnic backgrounds.

SEASON 54 (2008-09) OPEN POSITIONS

The following positions will be auditioned in late September-early October, 2008. A full list of excerpts is listed below. Applications and a copy of required repertoire will be available on this website beginning Monday, August 4, 2008.
